I was so happy to answer Justine’s questions from her French blog.
1. Are you happy in your life?
Yes I am happy, even the moments of sadness do not dim my happiness. Now I welcome such moments with compassion for myself.
2. What is your biggest passion?
I love teaching, helping people learn new skills. I realize that even when I was a child I would pretend to be a teacher with kids from the neighborhood.
Even at university, I would help classmates understand stuff. I would use examples to make my friends learn and laugh at the same time.
3. Who do you admire the most?
Oprah Winfrey. She gave me the spark to walk towards my dreams.
She is the example. I find her just fascinating.
I would love to have a friend like her. I am sure we would have a good laugh together!
4. If you were to choose a song, which one would that be?
I choose the French lullaby “A la claire fontaine” because this is the one I sung to my premature baby at the intensive care unit.
I was so distressed to see him with tubes everywhere. I thought it would be soothing to him to hear me sing.
This French lullaby is the first song which came into my head at this dramatic moment.
5. If you were to choose a movie?
I liked Crash. I love when we go above prejudices, biases, judgements.
I love when we can welcome the other, the one who is different, the one we do not understand.
Oh and I have a thing for Don Cheadle because he reminds me of an incredible man I deeply loved.
6. What are your 3 best qualities?
I am naturally enthusiastic, smiling a lot without thinking of it and I don’t give up when I start a project.
7. A shortcoming?
I sometimes believe crazy thoughts running in my head.
8. What is the most courageous thing you ever did in your life?
I escaped a toxic relationship even though I believed it when the abuser told me he would commit suicide if I dared to leave him. Of course he didn’t because that was only a threat to make me feel guilty.
9. How are your relationships with people?
Very contrasted. Either I immediately feel a sense of belonging and ease, or I feel something is off and weird. In the latter case, I simplt distance myself from those persons.
10. What is nature for you?
A refuge. A place where I experience true peace.
What do you believe in? Spirituality? Fairies? Angels? Religion? ….
All of the above. Moreover, I beleive in a higher power, something bigger than me that protects me.
