The Chinese plant He shou wu is good for the liver, the heart, good digestion, fertility, a sharp brain, good sleep and hair growth. He shou wu is the yin superfood we need! It is associated with longevity and regeneration. I love that it contains iron and zinc.
He shou wu comes in the form of a powder made from a root whose latin name is polygonum multiflorum. You won’t need a lot of He shou wu my friend my sister, only a quarter of a teaspoon at a time. You can buy it on Raw Living or Dragon Herbs. There is a great article about it by David Wolfe as well (look at the side effects to be on the same side). If you know another good place that sells He shou wu, please let me know in the comments.
You won’t taste such a small quantity in a dish or smoothie so you can be creative with He shou wu.
My He shou wu smoothie is made of bananas, spinach, strawberries, persimmons, broccoli leaves, he shou wu.
